I volunteer at Mason's school every other Friday. I like to help out and I like to see who he talks about. And it has given me a look at who WILL NOT be coming over for a playdate. And Mason will not go to his house. Anyway, this Friday I helped out in the morning, and then asked Mason if it was o.k. if I stayed and had lunch with him. I don't want to embarass the boy, so permission was asked and granted. Boy lunch has come a long way since I was in elementary school. Gone are the days of cream ham on croutons, flying saucers (bologna slice with instant mashed potatoes on top, and on top of that a slice of American cheese- totally gross). I also remember the rolls totally being drunched in butter. Anyway, at Mason's school they have spinach salad, ala carte salad with hard boiled eggs, cheese, raisins, trail mix, and other really healthy good choice foods.

So Mason has a really good choice of foods. The other day they had hummus with pita bread or a turkey dog wrapped in whole wheat breading. Yeah, that's what you get in the Northwest.
Anyway after our lunch I went out to recess with him and his friends. I ended up pushing 7 kids on the swing. And they all wanted under dogs. What a great calorie burner it was! After I gave one of the boys in his class an underdog he turns to Mason and says," Mason, your mom is the most awesomest, most fun mom ever!!!!" Mason smiles and says, "Yeah I know." Yes, a 7 year old made my whole day. So I'm a fun mom. And anyone that begs to differ can take it up with Tavin.
I bought myself the Wicked piano book for Christmas. What a great purchase!!!! My poor family will never get an end to my Wicked-ness. It comes in all forms! After I learned a few songs, I was so grateful that I had taken piano lessons for all those years. I'm so happy to sit down and play 'For Good' on the piano. Man I 'm glad I took lessons! All my kids absolutely will!! Thanks mom and dad! I'm sorry for all the time I spent crying over practicing.

AWESOME that you bought the ppiano music. I wish I could play those songs. I bet I could do right hand with no problem. (Remember our Easter program when we played a duet you & I, a right hand left hand duet...we rocked it, even if we were a little fast!!)
A 7 yr old saying you were the soolest most fun mom. Yep that is defenitely something that would make my day. You are an AWESOME mom!
Amen to the piano comment. I have begrudgingly put back that piano book numerous times at the music store. Last time was RIGHT before Christmas, and I just decided it was selfish to buy it. I just need to save my pennies and do it already. (And I have played "For Good" out of a friend's book...and it rocks. Don't you think that would be an awesome musical number for an RS enrichment about the 'ol VT? I've just thought that would rock.)
As you know, recently I was flattered by a 7 year old at my son's school as well. And I'm sorry, but it is the greatest boost ever. Plus, you ARE an awesome mom. The End.
I love moments like that!
You are a good example to us tired out moms! I reaallly want to see Wicked.
