Quote

This quote is on my sisters fridge. I think I'll put it on mine.

" If I had my child to raise all over again, I'd build self esteem first and the house later. I'd finger paint more and point the finger less. I would do less correcting and more connecting. I'd take my eyes off the watch and watch with my eyes. I'd take more hikes & fly more kites. I would stop playing serious and seriously play. I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars. I'd do more hugging and less tugging."

Go hug your kids.

Happy Birthday to my squishy princess!!!

Oh how the years go by! Today my sweet princess is 4! 4 years old!!! It seems like she was just a wee babe in my arms. And isn't she the most precious thing in this picture? Sometimes I wish she were still this small. Anyway, I love having a girl. I love that she wants to play tea party and dress up. I love that she is into things pink and frilly. I love that she LOVES princesses. Disney seriously makes a killing off moms like me. Just wait until Disneyland. She'll go nuts when she sees the princesses up close. A moment, honestly, that I can hardly wait for.

If I could freeze Nat I would right now. She is our sunshine and full of happiness. She is funny and well, just about the prettiest thing around. Spoken like a true mom right? We had a fun morning. Whenever it's the kids birthday, Tyler carries them into our room and says" Here comes the birthday girl/boy!" Then we all sing and open presents. It was a princess sight. She got a princess piano, princess dress up shoes of Belle, Cinderella, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty, Princess apron and chef hat, dress, pants, princess coloring book, stick on earrings, and Lady and the Tramp She choose a chocolate castle cake with pink frosting. Yep, she's a girl alright!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MISSY MOO!!! WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DAL PAL

Today my sweet babe turns 1. Thank you for coming to our family my sweet little guy!

I love you so much. Here's a few facts about my sweetie sweets:
12 hour labor? Sweet! 15 minutes of pushing, 8lbs 7 oz 203/4 inches long- cute as they come.

The kids have loved him every second since we brought him home. Making sure he had toys, helped find a bink, bringing diapers and wipes.

And what a good baby. Kind of makes me want to have another- haha Love.

I can't believe how fast this year has gone by. Now, he's a babbling, walking, biddy boy. He loves strawberry pancakes, yogurt, Ritz crackers, and eggs. And he loves his mummy the most.

Happy birthday moopty moo. Your as sweet as they come and I love you so much!

A little time in the ER

I only wish it was me in the ER instead of my sweet princess. She started getting sick Monday night and has been unable to hold down liquids since then. Poor, poor, little squish. Poor mom doing laundry non stop since then. Anyway, last night around 5:30 she sat up from the couch and started screaming that she was burning and that Mason should stop. The look on her face was glazed over and it terrified me to pieces! I yelled for Tyler to come in quick and she was hallucinating. I called that the last straw and called the pediatric Dr. on call. After talking to him and hearing him say "get her up to the Er right away", we were off. Long story short- she was dehydrated. They wouldn't let her leave until she could keep down liquids. After 3 hours, sadly the nurse came in with the IV kit. Rats! But after the IV, her fever went down, and she kept down 1 oz. of juice. I brought her home where I am now keeping a close eye on her. She has slept most of the morning away, but has managed to keep down a very small amount of pedialyte. Poor squish.

Mother's Day

Aaahh a day where I don't do anything. I woke up to the sounds of breakfast being made in the kitchen. I lay in bed and played the smelling game. I smell...pancakes...eggs...mmmm. I closed my eyes when Tyler and Mason came in and opened them up to see my sweet boy(the 5 year old) holding a huge bouquet of flowers. And breakfast was delicious!!! But then we had to hurry for church. The best part about Mothers Day at church is I don't have to prepare for the 3rd hour and we get strawberry shortcake in the overflow. Tasty! We spent the rest of the afternoon playing in the backyard.

Tyler made a tasty dinner of chicken alfredo with broccoli and carrots and then....pie! Bring out the pie! What a great day. I got beautiful flowers, and homemade cards. The homemade cards are my favorite. I never understood why my mom liked them so much but now I get it. But I have to say that I got the best, most awesome, gift ever. After I leave for the gym at nights, Tyler gets the kids ready for bed and then into Nat's room for a story. He secretly hid a tape recorder in her room and he has taped the kids telling stories that they have made up. I have 2 months worth of stories by my kids on tape. It is PRICELESS! I will cherish it forever and always. Thank you Love! No present in the world could ever take the place of that tape. Or the homemade card that came with it.

And so I hope all you mothers had a great day. I love having the day off but being a mom is what I do. Today it was back to laundry and cleaning. Dishes and, sadly, a sick Mason.

A good old family picture. It only took about 30 tries to find one that was decent of all of us. We needed one for our primary board. Anyway, I love my family. I love the family I grew up in. I love the family that raised my sweet Love into the awesome guy that he is today. And mostly I love the family I have now. What a lucky duck I am!

A new look

A new look for my squish. Some moms look forward to doing there girls hair. I am not one of those moms. Oh sure I get giddy and do the huge gasp when we're done. And the " Oh your so BEAUTIFUL Nat!!! Go show daddy!" But it is tears every morning. She does not want her hair combed and having her sit there to try new things is torture for the both of us. So, before the morning cry fest over hair I thought, ' o.k. that's it! I'm cutting that girls hair! She needs a summer look anyway.' And away we went. And why did she sit so well in the chair for 32 minutes???? Anyway, the result:
Yeah, I know it's super cute!!! And I love it and SHE loves it and daddy loves it. I think it's going to be a beautiful morning. Cue song- It's a beautiful morning ooohhhhh aaaahhhh oooohhhh. I think it's an allergy commercial or something. Anyway cute! Thanks squishy missy moo miss princess!! You are beautiful!

We have a walker!!!

Yep! It's been awhile since I blogged last. And the most exciting thing is that my sweet Dal Pal has officially taken his first steps. Oh what a stinkin cute boy I have. And walking before he's one? Genius! He is, after all, going to be a judge when he grows up. Because he has a judge name. Can you hear it? The honorable judge Dallin Jess ZoBell presiding. Nothing but genius! Anyway he walks now and it is fun to watch him. Mason especially loves to help.

I hope this works because this is my first time uploading stuff and let's face it, I have no idea what I'm doing. Anyway we have a walking boy. So then he turns to Tyler and says," Dad, now that I can walk and drink from a cup by myself, it's high time you threw me on the couch like the other kids."

Hence- the flying Dal Pal. Oh how these kids grow up to fast before my eyes.

And here we have the squish-aka-Nat, laying out with dad on the trampoline catching a few rays. Only next time we'll put shorts on. I think the pants may have been to hot. :)

And no post is complete without a picture of my best boy. Caught here in running action. What a handsome kingergarten boy. Nice job on the haircut dad! It looks great!!

I went for a ride on the Hog the other night. It was a smooth, good time. Wrapping my arms around my best Love, and feeling the rumble of the bike on my bum. Until we got home and realized that the pipes had melted the side of my shoe. hehehehe oh well, it was a good time anyway. Thanks Love.
