First day of school!!!!

Yes, yesterday was finally the first day of school. I say finally because in normal states like Utah, they started 3 weeks ago. :) But it came at last and not a moment to soon. I simply could not take one more day of teasing and more teasing from Mason and Nat. We walked to school and got our usual picture by the sign. He found a few friends from his Kindergarten class that have the same teacher as him this year. Hurray!!! And so when the bell rang he turned, gave me a kiss, and said goodbye. There were no tears. No worries that he was going to school ALL DAY and what would happen. No asking me when I was coming back to get him. My boy is grown up and he was on his way. I still followed behind to make sure he really knew where he was going. He did.

And can I tell you how wonderful it is to have someone so excited for school? It makes getting up and getting ready so easy. The house was pretty quiet and I got so much done. Nat and I decided to make a special after school snack for Mason. So we settled on some CCCookies. Yeah, I know. She's pretty cute. So we made some cookies and I put 3 on a red plate that we have that says,"You are special today." We went and picked Mason up and he was all smiles and told us all about his day. Recess, lunch at school, where the backpacks go, everything. He was very excited for his red plate treat and so we gave him the red plate for dinner too. School is in full swing. Nat goes to preschool next week. Life, my friends, is FANTSTIC!!
