Yep I know that it's been awhile. I feel bad blogging when the kids are awake and wanting to play so I tell myself, 'Beck, blog at night when they're asleep.' But by the time I get home from the Y, I am wiped out and tired and smelly. Anyway, Mason is at school and Nat is singing to Dallin in her room as they are both playing with the Weebles.
Last week was parent teacher conference. It seems funny to go to a conference for a Kindergartener. "Yes Mason knows his shapes and colors and can count to 100 by 10's." Yeah pretty much we knew he was a genius. So we decided to have Mason's first sleepover with his friend Tanner. These two are like Frick and Frack. You usually don't see one without the other. They are in the same church class and school class. And Tanner is a great kid. So he came over and we set up the Tee Pee and had root beer and popcorn and they watched Wall E. They went to bed at 9:00, actually falling asleep at 9:45. In the morning we had pancakes and chocolate milk and then they played until Tanner left. Sadly, 2 minutes after he left the meltdown occured. From both kids. Whining, fighting, yelling, you name it. I insisted that they nap that afternoon and after sleeping for 3 hours, I have decided that maybe the kids should have late overs instead. Good Grief the crankiness was unbelievable. But on a good note, it was fun for him to have his little friend over. And they let Nat watch the movie with them so that was nice.
I have to say that I love my calling right now. I am Primary chorister. I was the pianist a little over a year ago and it was horrible. I seriously had second thoughts about it. I DO NOT like playing the piano in front of people. I do not!!!!! I freeze up and get nervous and my fingers slip all over the keys and I am a mess. So you can probably inagine how fun the primary program was for me. :( I wanted to die! and plus I was in the first trimester with Dallin and so in between songs I was wolfing down saltines to keep me from yacking all over the piano keys. Terror, pure terror. So what a smart move to move to chorister instead. Which is also funny since I can't sing a note very well. But I love singing with those kids.
So yesterday, I was teaching the Eternal Family song to the kids. After I was done with the Junior Primary, I sat down and then thought, "Hhhhmmm how long has my zipper been undone?" Please keep in mind that as we sing the line" I am a builder growing so tall," I am stretching my arms way over my head. Hahahahaha Oh well. At least they won't forget that line.
And finally a picture of my Dal Pal. Serioulsy I love this boy.
Not sure which ice cream cone to have? Have both!! And he did.

Ah....Beck. Again, you have out mothered me. I won't let Will have sleep-overs. But, in my own defense, I must say that a couple of the times he's asked, it's been with girls. That's just gonna have to be a no.
I mostly wanted to write and tell you that I HEAR you on the piano thing. I hate, hate, hate it too. And the weird thing is...I'll sing in front of a crowd any day. Piano, not so much. Our ward is down to a total of 4 people who can play AT ALL and even though I'm in the RS presidency....I have to play for lots of stuff. I can't say no. I just have to suck it up. I'm convinced we'll be blessed one day.
I was giggling the whole time about your zipper just wondering when you'd figure it out. J/k. I'm sure nobody noticed, because I know I sure didn't and I actually pay attention. The sleepover in the teepee looks fun. We have had cousin sleepovers in our tent in the living room, but never a teepee.
Looks like fun-mother of the year. My kids are climbing all over me right now and wanting to check out their own things on the computer, but I am doing SUCH a good job of ignoring them while I blog.
I understand the piano thing. The first time I was called as primary pianist I didn't even OWN a piano. I had to make weekly trips to the church to practice (with an infant)and pray it was enough to get me through each Sunday without being thoroughly embarrassed.
Hi Becky, I hope you don't mind that I check your blog once in a while. Your kids are adorable. But what I wanted to say is that you've got to be the favorite neighborhood mom, what with a TEE-PEE! I wish I had one.
