The kids and I went to Utah this last weekend to visit family. I loved it and the kids had so much fun playing with cousins and seeing grandma and grandpa. We're lucky that my parents and Tyler's parents are only 10 minutes from each other so we can visit both. It was a nice visit and we all had a good time. Now for the plane ride home. It was a late one. It left at 8:40 at night and the kids were tired before we even took off. So Nat is by the window and then Mason and then me holding Dallin. Plus the diaper bag and dvd player (thanks Shannon) coats, blankets etc... you get the idea. So we take off and are doing well and then the stewardess comes with our drinks. I had Nat her juice and then she hands me mine instead of Mason. SO I set mine down on my tray and then hand Mason his drink. Then I feel something wet and cold running into my lap. Dallin has reached up and dumped my drink all over. So I'm sitting in cranberry juice and ice cubes. Sometimes you just have to laugh.
After our drink escapade, Dallin falls asleep in my arms and Mason falls asleep in my lap. Nat falls asleep on Mason's legs. The plane lands and the kids wake up tired and cranky. I'm determined to be the very last one off the plane so that no one is waiting for me to get my stuff. Then this nice, I mean she was heaven sent, nice lady says to me " You have your arms full. Please can I help you?" You betcha!! So I hand her Dallin, find Nat's shoes and socks, put them on, gather our stuff and o.k. here we go. Mason's attempt to help Nat get off the plane backfires and he pops her because she's not moving fast enough. Enter the tired, cranky, that hurt scream. I look at Mason and without saying a word he starts crying. Dallin decides what the heck, and he starts crying. So then I look at this mom and we just start laughing. What am I gonna do yell? That would solve nothing. So we walk off the plane and Tyler hears us from the gate and comes down the ramp to help me. Whew what a trip! It was lots of fun though and I am sure glad to be home.

Oh Beck, I'm going to buy you a trophy for that one. You are a champion mom for braving the airplane experience by yourself with three kids.
I would definitely say a sense of humor is about the best way to handle those situations. Way to go mom!!
Oh Case...I have sure been there too. I just had to laugh at this post. Bless your heart, I feel your grief, tiredness, confusion, frustration and boy oh boy oh boy your joy & relief in this situation! Good Times!
